As government officials begin considering reopening parts of the U.S. as the coronavirus pandemic begins to recede in some states, one outlet mall isn’t waiting for any official green light to reopen.

The Nebraska Crossing outlets, an open air mall establishment, aims to open its door again next week, on April 24, according to a New York Post report. The mall, like all U.S. retail, shuttered in March as the pandemic took a foothold across the country.

The owner describes the move as a “soft opening,” according to the report, and an opportunity to set best practices for other retailers as they begin to re-start operations.

The state of Nebraska never officially requested retailers to close but has stated all businesses need to follow mandated guidelines.
