Dillards stores open for shoppers despite COVID-19

More retailers than not are closed temporarily given the ongoing coronavirus outbreak but one major retail brand’s brick-and-mortar stores are still open to shoppers where states have not mandated closure.

Department store chain Dillard’s is open everywhere it’s allowed but its employees aren’t too happy about it, according to a CNBC report.

Dillard’s runs approximately 290 stores, most located in Midwest and southwest U.S. states. Employees are “begging,” for the chain to close, according to the report.

“We are open with limited hours where not ordered to close by state or local government mandate,” a Dillard’s spokeswoman told CNBC. “We are promptly cooperating with any such actions.”
