Starting this weekend Costco will offer senior-only (60 years or older) shopping hours on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The move comes as supermarkets and retailers are striving to make shopping in brick-and-mortar locations safer in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A slew of supermarkets, including Publix, and retailers, including Walmart, are setting aside a few hours a week so seniors can shop and avoid crowds and also hopefully avoid getting the infectious virus.
The announcement, made on Costco’s Facebook page, also noted the pharmacy will be available to senior shoppers as well.
