STORIS Spotlight: Bill Cotter

Bill Cotter is a long-time STORIS employee.

Bill has worked for STORIS for over 12 years. He started in Quality Assurance where he built his expertise in testing forms and label printing, bar code processing and hardware certification. He excelled in QA and seized an opportunity to move over to the Production Department. In the seven years since moving over, he has taken over the Enhanced Laser Printing development. He has also contributed in the development of several Inventory Control and Advanced Receivables processes. With his expertise in quality, he is an asset to the development team as well as the Support and QA Departments.

He is also a Meteorologist and was an on-air ‘weather man’ in the New York metropolitan area. In his spare time he endeavors to play golf, read and plays the bagpipes. He has played in, and managed, a competitive pipe bands in Northern NJ. Bill, his wife of 25 years, Eileen and teenage son, Liam live in Fanwood, NJ.

What do you do in your position on a daily basis? : Research and apply programming solutions to new and existing software functionality.
What do you like most about working at STORIS? : My colleagues for being hard workers and quite entertaining.
If you were not in this field, what would you be? : Teacher
Do you have any hobbies/hidden talents? : Besides bagpiping and golf, I am addicted to crime novels.
Favorite movie? : Casablanca
Favorite holiday? : St Patrick’s Day
Favorite month of the year? : March
Favorite food?: Salmon
What do you usually do when you aren’t working? : Pay bills, TV binge on British crime/detective shows and be outdoors.
Favorite place you’ve traveled to and why? : Bermuda because of the warmth, sand and surf.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be & why? : I would like have the ability to stop time. An extra hour or day would be very helpful, especially when I’m having fun.
Favorite color? : Blue.
Fun fact that many people may not know about you? : I marched in the Desert Storm Welcome Home parade in NYC.
