// Tapi Carpets was set up by Carpetright founder’s son, Martin Harris
Tapi Carpets has reportedly appointed the former chief executive of mattress retailer Eve Sleep, James Sturrock, to run its carpet-selling business.
Sturrock exited the struggling mattress firm in April, and joins Tapi Carpets on Monday, The Telegraph reported.
Tapi Carpets was set up by Martin Harris, son of the founder of larger rival Carpetright, Lord Harris.

He will become managing director of retail and vice-chairman of the company in the reshuffle.
Meanwhile, one of Tapi Carpets’ largest investors, Will Barker, has been made chairman.
Lord Harris, who until now did not have a defined role at Tapi, was appointed to the board, responsible for buying and property.
He took a swipe at its rivals comparing its scale-up efforts to a “coordinated attack on our competitors and before they know it, the ball is in the back of the net”.
Moreover, Eve Sleep’s chief marketing officer Cheryl Calverley was promoted to take the top job at the online bedding retailer in early April.
