In an effort to better support customers more vulnerable to COVID-19, the coronavirus, Walmart is setting specific pickup hours.

First responders, customers over the age of 60, consumers with disabilities and anyone deemed as high-risk can pick up orders each day from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at select pickup store locations.

It’s the latest move by Walmart to provide a safer retail environment for both shoppers and employees as the point of pickup will be contact-free, according to a press release.

“Now more than ever, families are relying on our pickup service to help get quality, fresh groceries to their homes as safely as possible,” said Tom Ward, senior vice president, customer product, in the release.“These are extraordinary times, and we are constantly looking for ways we can help deliver that same peace of mind to all our customers, particularly those who are most at-risk.”

Customers will see a prompt on Walmart.com/grocery that displays the qualifications for selecting the slot listed as ‘At Risk Only.’
