J.C. Penney furloughing most hourly workers starting today

Retailer J.C. Penney Co. Inc will furlough most of its hourly staff as of today, April 2, the same date it hoped to reopen stores it temporarily closed in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Stores are now closed until further notice, according to a Market Watch report, and the retailers is also going to furlough a “significant” amount of workers at the home office and design studio and salary workers as of April 5.
