Publix sets up special shopping time for seniors due to COVID-19

In an effort to provide a safer shopping experience for its senior consumers, supermarket Publix is setting aside specific hours for those 65 years old and older.

The senior hours are 7 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and the pharmacy department will open at 7am for shoppers, according to a CBS12 report. Seniors can also still shop during regular 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. hours.

The chain is just the latest supermarket to take such action, as Retail Customer Experience has reported. Walmart’s senior hour is one hour before regular opening time on Tuesdays.
