Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos cut right to the chase in a letter to employees this past weekend after first thanking them for their hard work and effort.

“Across the world, people are feeling the economic effects of this crisis, and I’m sad to tell you I predict things are going to get worse before they get better,” said Bezos, according to a Fox News report.

His message comes just days after Amazon announced it would be hiring tends of thousands of workers to help meet the increased online consumer demand due to the fact many brick-and-mortar retail brands and chain are temporarily closing due to COVID-19, the coronavirus pandemic.
